At Boulder Valley Psychiatry, we specialize in providing comprehensive psychiatric care for college students and young adults. Our triple-board-certified physician has extensive experience in diagnosing and treating various mental health conditions including depression, anxiety disorders, and ADHD.
Rosie Gellman, MD is the physician at Boulder Valley Psychiatry. She is triple-boarded in General adult psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and General Pediatrics. Her general medical background provides her a medical backbone to help with diagnostic clarity and guide safe treatment decisions. Dr. Gellman entered medicine in order to build meaningful connections with people of all ages and to help better the lives of others. She found she was able to best accomplish this dream in the field of psychiatry, where she can spend ample time listening to patients and getting to know them as the people they are. She uses this passion of listening and understanding to help guide people as they face the struggles inherent in life, and uses a holistic approach with tools including medication management, therapeutic skills, and lifestyle interventions to support her patients. Dr. Gellman feels her most valuable skill is listening, and enjoys spending ample time getting to know her patients to best provide support. through the unique lives they lead.

We do NOT treat schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, bipolar disorders including mania, eating disorders, personality disorders including borderline personality disorder, narcissistic personality disorder, or conduct or antisocial personality disorders.
Dr. Gellman does NOT treat substance use disorders or conditions in which substance use is significantly contributing to the mental health concerns.
Dr. Gellman does NOT conduct evaluations for custody, disability, unemployment, FMLA.

Boulder Valley Psychiatry is not in network with any insurance plans, and we do not interact with any insurance companies directly for reimbursement purposes. We do provide superbills for you to apply for insurance reimbursement. We recommend calling your insurance company to check out of network benefits prior to scheduling if this is a priority. Medications prescribed are typically covered by insurance.
Dr. Gellman is not in network with any insurance carriers, . Appointments are paid by credit or debit card, and you will be provided a superbill to submit to your insurance for reimbursement (if eligible).
Dr. Gellman can usually see patients for a new evaluation within 1-2 weeks.
We prefer to see you in person for your first visit if possible, so Dr. Gellman can get to know you better, and after that, you can follow up via telehealth or in person depending on your preference, if Dr. Gellman feels it would be appropriate. There may also be times in the future when changes to laws surrounding telehealth require in person visits.
Both practices are run by Dr. Gellman and share a common phone and contact email, so either will get you to the right place!
Initially, appointments with Dr. Gellman will occur more frequently, typically every 2 weeks, especially if a new medication is prescribed. We will space out visits as we start to see improvement, initially to monthly, and then meeting every 2-3 months when we all feel things are stable. Dr. Gellman requires all patients to be seen at least every 3 months to continue receiving medications, and possibly more frequently if necessary for safety or current prescribing laws.

We are OUT OF NETWORK with all insurance company but will provide superbills for reimbursement upon request. You can contact your insurance company prior to information on how much they may reimburse.
Dr. Gellman usually responds to inquiries by phone or online within 24-48 hours. Our time together begins with the complimentary initial 15-minute consultation over the phone, which includes specific concerns about you or your child's mood, anxiety, behavior, or struggles and reasons for seeking treatment. The consultation is an opportunity for you and Dr. Gellman to get to know each other and see if you want to establish a formal doctor-patient relationship. The consultation process ensures the expectations of Dr. Gellman and your family are aligned and that we are a good fit together. Your treatment plan may include interventions such as medications, psychotherapy, and lifestyle modifications such as diet and exercise.
After the initial consultation, we will schedule an initial evaluation and regular follow up visits to check in on you or your child and the progress in treatment. With current availability, these visits can typically be scheduled within 1 week. At our visits, we will discuss updates and then Dr. Gellman will provide updated recommendations on medications, lifestyle interventions, as well as potential recommendations for medical workup to obtain if needed, as pertaining to the mental health condition.
During our visits, in addition to checking in on medications, Dr. Gellman will also include teaching on some brief therapeutic strategies and interventions to trial to help, for patients and families alike. If you or your child would like a more prolonged visit for further therapeutic management, we can discuss the possibility in our treatment plans. Dr. Gellman aims to work with the needs and goals of you and your child to ensure our treatment plans align, and we will continue to collaborate as a team throughout our sessions together.
In between visits, if needed, Dr. Gellman can collaborate with the care team such as therapists, primary care physicians, and other specialists. With her background as a pediatrician, she believes a well-rounded and team approach is the most effective to helping someone feel better as quickly as possible and help maintain that stability.
Dr. Gellman is generally able to respond to messages within 24-48 business hours. She is able to schedule initial visits within about 1 week with current availability. She does not typically respond to calls or messages outside of business hours on evenings or weekends.
